Overview

Sándor Takács is a research fellow at the Institute of Horticultural Sciences. He has completed his PhD studies in 2019 in Doctural School of Plant Sciences. His research focuses on the optimal water supply of some selected vegetable species. His expertise lies in water stress measurements in horticultural plants, modelling the growth and water use of herbaceous plants and precision irrigation applications. Dr. Takács’s work contributes to questions of how the different stress levels affect some important phytonutrients or quality parameters of vegetable crops. Across his research, he uses instruments related to monitoring plant transpiration, leaf reflectance and photosynthetic activity. He authored and co-authored 22 research articles in high-quality scientific journals. He has won the prestigious Wolfgang Kessler research award awarded by the German-Hungarian Association under the patronage of the Hungarian Academy of Science.

Projects

GINOP-2.2.1-15-2016-00003 – Research program of the Univer Product Plc. on spicepaprika and processing tomato
Different kinds of experimental PGPR products were tested in field experiments under different levels of water deficit stress. The interactive effect of stress and PGPRs were evaluated on the quantitative and qualitative parameters of processing tomato.
