Overview

Dr. Zsolt Kotroczó is a soil biologist and ecologist. His research and teaching interests include soil organic matter changes, soil microbiological processes, and biological activity. In his research, , in collaboration with other departments and his PhD students, he investigates the effects of different soil management (conventional and conservation tillage) and land use (horticulture, viticulture, etc.) on soil biological processes, with particular emphasis on alternative options for increasing soil organic matter content. His main research interest is the long-term variation of organic matter dynamics and its effects on soil properties.

Research keywords:
soil biology, soil organic matter, enzyme activity, microbial ecology
