Borbála Letícia Gémes - MATE Research
Overview
Borbála Letícia Gémes, ecotoxicologist, works as research assistant at the Department of Ecotoxicology in the Agro-Environmental Research Centre. The main focus of her research is in vitro investigation of biochemical effects of agricultural pollutants (especially glyphosate and related compounds) on transmembrane receptors (integrins). Development of immunoassay methods to get cheaper, faster and more sensitive tools suitable for environmental monitoring of several environmental pollutants is also part of her research field. Target compounds are mainly agricultural pollutants (e.g. pesticide active ingredients and mycotoxins) but include other compounds too.

Projects
TOPPlant Trainers for Plant Protection in Organic Farmings (ERASMUS+ project, 2020-1-AT01-KA202-078107)
The TOPPlant project was aiming to create a training manual for plant protection in organic farming. Topics of the manual involve both theoretical and practical informations on the field of ecological agriculture.
Hort4EUGreen Enhancing practical skills of horticulture specialists to better address the demands of the European Green Deal (ERASMUS+ project, 2020-1-RO01-KA203-080398)
The general objective of the Hort4EUGreen project is to train staff and students of partner organizations in four topics relevant to the Europe Green Deal, such as their knowledge and practical skills in using modern (crop) technologies enough to respond well to the real context on the labor market.
