Overview

Péter Honfi is an associate professor at the Department of Floriculture and Dendrology, Institute of Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Garden Art. He serves as head of the department, vice director for education of the institute, head of the Buda Arboretum, and chair of the Subcommittee on Ornamental Plants of the Committee on Horticulture and Food Sciences, Section of Agricultural Sciences, Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He served as deputy dean of the Faculty of Horticultural Science (2015-2020) and director of the Buda Campus (2015-2016).

His research focuses on the cultivation and application of ornamental plants, with a special focus on the cultivation of taxa that can be used in a changing climate, and biostimulators that can be applied in greenhouse cultivation.

Dr. Péter Honfi authored and co-authored 13 research articles in high-impact scientific journals (7 and 1 of those were published in Q1 and Q2 journals, respectively).

He is a member of the International Editorial Board of the Glasilo Future and the editorial board of Kertgazdaság (Horticulture) and a former responsible editor of the Dísznövény Szemle (Ornamental Plant Review).
