Overview

Milán Farkas is a molecular ecologist. During his doctoral research, he focused on the microbial ecology of hydrocarbon contaminated groundwaters. Applying complex methods, he investigated the microbial key players of oxygen-limited environments and participated in the development of more effective bioremediation techniques. During his postdoctoral years, he cooperated in the research of surface waters, where he studied the relationships between the different microbial communities of the river-wetland-lake system and the nutrient load. In  recent years, his attention has turned to the investigation and practical application of plant-microbiome relationships.
