Dr. Györgyi Gelybó - MATE Research
Overview
As an atmospheric scientist Dr. Györgyi Gelybó has been researching regional climate change and the potential tools to mitigate it by focusing on nature based solutions. While investigating carbon and water cycle components of agricultural lands, she is trying to find best practices under local conditions to ensure the long term sustainability of agriculture while specifically focusing on GHG emissions and water cycling. In recent decades people have been experiencing climate change and its detectable effects, which has created anxiety in the climate conscious population as our natural needs have often become contradictory with the fight against greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and climate change. The Pannonian Biogeographical region is a well-defined unique region where protecting native species as well as mitigating climate change effects in different sectors is a challenge that we must face.
